Forget This of the Day: Just in time for the 10th anniversary of the September 11 terror attacks, Long Island-based winery Lieb Family Cellars is offering the tasteless oenophile a choice between two 9/11-themed wines: The 9/11 Memorial Commemorative Merlot and the 9/11 Memorial Commemorative Chardonnay.
But wait — there’s less tact: Each bottle costs $19.11 and consists of grapes grown “90 miles from the site of the World Trade Center.”
In a half-hearted attempt to temper this shameless stunt, Lieb Family Cellars promises to donate 6% to 10% of the proceeds to the National September 11 Memorial and Museum.
Of course you could just donate the money directly and skip the whole “having to buy 9/11-themed wine” part.

seriously? just, seriously? I’m ashamed that they’re from my home.
This is almost worse than the people selling the 9/11 commemorative books at Ground Zero to unsuspecting tourists. Even after the outrage, they’re only going to donate 6-10% of the cost of a bottle? Fuck you. Making money off of a tragedy is lower than scum. Fuck.
